RIDE TO DA BAYOU

What do you get when you have a lot of beautiful bikes, a ton of food,
plenty of sunshine, a stellar performer to entertain you, costume contests,
the awesome scenery of da bayou, cold beer and great hospitable people?
You have a damn good time in Bayou Gauche at Fisherman’s Warf!
Many people are always asking me to put
together something fun to ride to on a Sunday
because so many must work on Saturday. So,
we did just that. The day could not have been
more perfect, and “Peach” smoked up some
tenderloins and the ladies all around Bayou
Gauche brought some side dishes, and I ate
some of the best jambalaya I ever had. Mike,
and his wife Christine, along with some help,
kept the cold drinks coming, while owner Joel
sat at the end of the bar and “supervised” (ha-
ha). Many of us met up at New Orleans Harley
Davidson for some breakfast and then rode on
to da bayou.
Adam Pearce sat under a tree with his guitar and
entertained us with powerful unmistakable
vocals. The crowd was the first to hear a song
from his newly released album, WARBIRD. Jim
Jersey won the costume contest dressed as…,
well I can’t even tell you what that was, but it
was very disturbing, for sure! The bike show
was judged by the crowd by a secret ballot
and Ryan won first place with Chuck in second
place and Robert and Adam tied for third. One
of our beautiful Girls of Thunder, Kaleb, came
out dressed as her “doppelganger” the Unicorn,
to give us a hand too. Thank you to New Orleans
Harley Davidson for the awesome giveaways!
Finally, I want to tell Miss Madonna, the Queen
of Bayou Gauche what a pleasure it was to
meet you and spend time with you!
We had over 70 bikes come from as far away
as Lafayette. Not bad for a first event huh?
Everyone had so much fun that we are going
to do it again on the last Sunday of each
month! So, see ya at the next one! Thank you
to all who came out, and to owner Joel and
the crew for being such awesome hosts! If you
