here are many riding clubs and motorcycle clubs in Louisiana and
Mississippi. We wish we could recognize every single one of them that
help their community’s and other charitable organizations around the
country, but there just aren’t enough pages in this magazine to cover
every one of them. But when we are out and about with our road crew, and we
get a chance to work with and spotlight one of these awesome clubs, we like to
introduce them to our readers.
On Veterans Day we had the opportunity to ride and work with The SouthSide
Maniacs. They are a 501c3 non-profit organization that supports the fun and
excitement of riding motorcycles, while helping to raise funds for charitable
organizations. They have supported several of these worthy causes over the
years including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriner’s Children’s
Hospital, along with different individual’s in their community.
The club was established in 2007 by two friends Roy Horrigan and Mark
Hermecz that wanted to ride, have fun, and help the community.
The SouthSide Maniacs will hold a 2000 mile ride-a-thon from Houma, La.
to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children from August 1st through August 4th, 2018.
Shriner’s Hospitals has a mission to provide the best care to children with
neuromusculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries, and other special healthcare
needs within a compassionate, family centered and collaborative care
environment.

After the ride-thon, there will be a Welcome Home Party held at Hooter’s
of Houma, La on August 4, 2018. At this time they will raffle off a 2018 Polaris
