Blackened Fish Nachos
Ok, so ya’ll already know that we travel a lot around Louisiana and
Mississippi promoting biker stuff and the magazine, so we have to eat
right? Normally we pick a restaurant that someone recommends the
old, “you gotta try this”. And more often than not it’s a good place, but
hardly ever just off da chain! Well I can finally say after a few months
that I found one “off da chain” and where you would least expect it! On
a vendor food cart!! That’s right, a food cart. You know like the old hot
dog carts you see around the French quarter. But this not your ordinary
food cart. This place has gourmet nachos! And not your “here is a snack
nachos” These dudes nacho’s plate are a meal in itself. Did I mention
the name? Oh wait, get ready for this… “Not Cho Average Nachos”.
(I’ll never forget that name!) The owner Lucien Barbarin, and his family
have taken the nacho a step above the norm. He even has Bananas
Foster nachos, and alcohol infused ice cream! We found him outside the
library in uptown New Orleans, and we were so glad we stopped! I got
the cheeseburger bacon nachos (pictured here) and Andrew got the surf
n turf nachos. This place has all the things a restaurant has, except no
bathrooms! Haha. They are friendly, fast, clean, reasonably priced, and
you don’t have to worry about bike parking! Park where ever he is! Check
