LO U I S I A N A E V E N T S
Cold Shot was formed in 1993. The name originated from the Stevie
Ray Vaughn song by the same title.
The band features cover of the greatest classic rock and
blues tunes of all times. Recently, the band has added a very
powerful female vocalist to bolster their repertoire of music.
The band features tunes from the early Beatles all the
way through time to Bruno Mars. The core of the band is still
dedicated to the classic rock of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Cold Shot
has a set of pure dance music as well featuring such popular
tunes as What I like About You, Play That Funky Music, and
many more.
Since its inception in 1993, Cold Shot has played shows all
over southeast Louisiana and the Northshore parishes. Clubs,
fairs, festivals, biker events and private parties have all rocked
to the pure sound of this band. Whether it’s a tune by John,
Paul George and Ringo, the static charged guitar of ZZ Top’s
Texas prairie, or the wailing electrifi ed harmonica of Chicago
blues, this band plays it all
Make sure you check them out at the Mississippi
Mayhem Music Festival and Rally on April 5th -7th. www.
Originally formed in 2011, the band has seen several changes
in its lineup. A collection of original songs has stayed with the
group, improving over the years due to the excelling performance
of its professional and passionate present members. The sound has
developed a hint of diff erent styles of rock including progressive,
alternative, metal, grunge, and hard rock. Covering classics and
some of today’s hit radio songs, the band, without taking the familiar
aspect, gives these songs a LUNATyPE twist of refreshment.
The band’s original member, Matt Dillon, captivates his audience
with tales of everyday experiences told from several diff erent point
of views. He is the vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter in the group.
See our ad on the back cover of this issue!!
Born in New Orleans, LA, Matt grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast area. He has
been in many bands in his youth. Along the way, he has played diff erent styles rock
and many venues that helped transform him into the musician he is today.
Bassist, Dave Reilly, is part local pizza restaurant owner of R&B Brick Oven Pizza.
He has been a very contributing member. He was investing time and money into the
band when it fi rst began. It became clear that he, being a musician too, would have
a permanent position in the band due his never-ending support and eff orts to keep
this project afl oat. Dave, originally from the Gulf Coast area, lived several years in
his youth in South Florida before returning to the coast. Diving into the restaurant
business throughout early years, and now slowly becoming a stronger musician. This
is his fi rst band.
Drummer, Joey DeWitt, is owner of DeWitt Construction Services. He grew up in
Atlanta, GA and moved to Long Beach, MS in 2006. He has always been passionate
and enthusiastic about music. Overcoming the demons haunting his past, he allows
music to fuel his desire to keep from falling back into those dark vices. He has also
been drumming for many diff erent projects. Joey outshines any band that he played
in before with his drive to further along this project.
Amanda Foucault, vocalist, has a soulful voice. Originally, from the Gulf Coast area,
she spent some time in Philadelphia, PA. She played in a couple other bands before
joining LUNATyPE. Joey was also in another project with Amanda. Accompanying
Matt’s vocals, Amanda brings nice enchanting harmony to the mix. She is the newest
member to the band.
LUNATyPE hopes to release some
studio recordings soon. The band is in
the process of building their Promotional
EPK. LUNATyPE would also like to give its
undying gratitude to those listen to and
support the cause to keep our message
alive. Can’t stop this unbreakable rock!
