PASTORS CORNER
It’s more than a motorcycle...
I have a 2016 Road Glide Special and I really believe this is my most
favorite scoot I ever owned. But recently I learned that it’s not just a scoot,
scooter, bike, motor bike or motorcycle. It my way of life.
When I say a way of life, I’m not just talking about leather, chain,
tattoos or even rolling down the highway feeling the wind in my face.
There is so much more....
It’s a way of life, not being a stamped duplicate of my neighbor or
walking around every day with blank look on my face. Because a Biker is
never void of adventure. When we throw our leg across that saddle, hit the
switch and hear that sweet sound of those pipes... it’s one down and all up
from there as my problems just fade away.
But it’s not just about the ride. It’s about the honor and respect we
share. I can drive my truck down the highway and occasionally someone
will wave at me as we pass. But when I am on two wheels, I get the keep
the rubber down wave every time I meet another rider. If I pull over on the
side of the road in my truck, very rarely will someone pull over to check on
me. But if I pull over on my bike, it won’t be long someone else is pulling
over to make sure everything is ok.
Someone sick, injured, lost a loved one or has a child in need? The
motorcycle community comes together to show support like no other
group or organization I have ever seen. I jokingly say we will raise money
for a dog with fleas if we need too.
It’s about honor and respect. If you roll on two wheels (or three), then
in most cases you know we have our own code which we live by. No,
it’s not some secret code, but you can’t buy the code when you get the
motorcycle. It’s a code of the heart. I call it the love, loyalty, honor and
respect code. Some would say it’s the code of the military, some would say
it’s a club code, but I say it’s God’s code for our life.
“Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, ...
Matthew7:12 NKJV “Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question,
testing Him, and saying, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the
law?” Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your
heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On
these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.””
Matthew 22:35-37, 39-40 NKJV
I guess what I am really trying to say is simply “it’s more than a
motorcycle, it’s a way of life, it’s just how we roll.
See you in the wind

NEW NAME BRINGS
NEW FUTURE
What was once known as Renegade
in Central Louisiana now bears the
new name of Taboo Harley-Davidson.
Brothers and new owners, Stratton
and Marc Murphy, spent Saturday,
July 29th, with the motorcycling
community bringing fresh new
meaning to the dealership.
Prior to the official reveal, patrons
heard from multiple Harley Owners
Group (H.O.G.) members and city
officials with the Central Louisiana
Chamber of Commerce, who explained
their excitement for the promises of
change. The decision to start anew
comes after a long history and further
development of the Harley-Davidson
Motor Company vision for paving the
next generation’s way to two wheels.
Sparks literally flew during the
ribbon-cutting, where General
Manager John Roberts ceremoniously
beckoned a new beginning by
shredding the red ribbon with a
chainsaw in true Harley fashion. Both
owners and management made clear
their dedication was to the community,
motorcyclists, and their passion to ride.
And while the weekend was filled with
entertainment by
sideshow performers, stunt riders, and
more, the Taboo Harley-Davidson team
plans to uphold the belief of freedom
and making lifelong friends in the
future ahead.
The new mission statement reads as follows:
“Offer quality products and services which ignite, fuel, accelerate,
and fulfill the dreams of personal freedom through membership
in our legendary motorcycling community. Apply our success
toward the betterment of our team members and their families,
our neighbors, and community, while continuing to deliver
exceptional experiences to our customers.”
