1. What was it like working in the pageant industry? What kind of highs and lows did you experience?

I have a very estranged relationship with the pageant industry. On one side, I love it. On the other, I feel it still has toxic elements that haven’t disappeared. Although, I think it’s all about your approach and your perspective at the end of day.

Pageant have offered me amazing opportunity, including being able to establish a name for myself amongst important figures and businesses within my city. It’s allowed me to explore confidence growth and also challenged me in very positive ways. I learned a lot about myself, like that I could handle way more than I thought I could. I realized how strong I was and that was an amazing feeling to experience.

All in all, I think the pageant industry can be a very uplifting experience if you go in with a vision to promote greater good, over your own personal pursuits.

Well, I wouldn’t really consider myself a model. But the number one thing I would warn against is - don’t take any job or any opportunity that doesn’t sit well in your gut. I’ve gotten some pretty cool opportunity like being cast to to co-star in an independent feature length film… but the role required me to actually smoke a real cigarette. The film was supposed to be submitted to Sundance, but I ultimately turned it down because it didn’t align with my morals or values.

So yeah, don’t hop on everything that comes your way. God has the perfect time for you to shine and He wants it to be representative and glorifying to Him.
