CREATING A FAMILY VISION

Having a clear vision of what you want in life is the fastest way to get there. Without knowing what you want, how can you possibly have it? Proverbs 29:18 states where there is no vision the people Shall Perish and this is true for the structure of the family. If the family has never set down and discussed together what they want to achieve as a family unit then how will you know when you are on the right track?
When was the last time you, your spouse and your kids did a family vision board together? Doing a family vision board is a great way to teach children at a very young age to believe that anything is possible. It is also a way of bonding the children and the parents together by reinforcing that you are only limited by your mind and this is a really cool way of getting the family to think about the future that you want to create together.
Here are some really quick fun tips on how to do a family vision board:
1. Ask questions that are age appropriate for your kids( see examples below)
Where would you like to travel one day? What would you do there? How would it be? Are there places you’ ve been to that you’ d like to revisit? What things would you like to be good at? What do you see yourself doing in 5 / 10 / 20 years time? What will you do for fun? What kind of jobs might you have? Which people will be in your life? What will your hobbies be? Will you play any sports, musical instruments or have any special talents? How would you like to feel in the future?
Keep these sessions very chatty with no right or wrong answers and certainly no judgement over anything seeming far fetched or of what you may have in mind for them.
