VIOLENCE
Perpetrators?
Incessant wars
Video games
Various sporting events
Win at all costs (ignore the body count)
We somehow appear to be mesmerized
and miffed at the high level of violent
occurrences within our society while
carefully and methodically pointing the
finger in every direction that does not live
on our street(s).
Violence is incubated in a plethora of
communities throughout this nation, we as
parents must take a seat at the table of
responsibility as we dodge the land mines
of which we may have assisted in
conspicuously planting.
We must know our audiences; our
audiences are those for whom we are
responsible, those that are fascinated with
us, those that observe our every move from
the way we eat to our sleeping habits;
through those impressionable eyes an
image has been indelibly etched into their
minds as the majority of them will strive to
maintain what often time is seen as an
obligation to us and preserve the legacies
we have created and passed on for
generations.
As each parent reminisces about his/her
once “happy” child and we wonder what
happened to that once “happy” smile; and
the laughter that brought joy and serenity
into his/her life, does our conscious render
a silent mind jarring whisper?
