THRIVING Melanin Family Magazine June 2017: A Father's Love | Page 12
Dedications
I may not say it often enough, but I
thank God for the father that you are.
I do know how blessed I am solely due to
the father that you are to our daughter.
You do and have played an active role
in Kamiah’s life since she was in the
womb. I am grateful that no matter
what has transpired between the two of
us, you have not missed a beat when
it comes to her. I am always in awe
at the bond you both have. My heart
is always filled with joy knowing my
daughter has what I didn’t…a FATHER!
You are showing her what it looks like
to be loved and cherished by a man. I
won’t have to worry about her missing
out on a father’s love and I couldn’t
be more grateful. You sir are a rare
breed…you know that your presence is necessary. You don’t feel obligated to be a father, but
feel it is your duty as you helped create such a wonderful gift. You have and will teach her
the things that I am unable to teach her because I am not a man, I am not her father. I thank
you for her. I thank you for being the other part of the puzzle that has been my miracle. So
on this day I salute and honor you. You are an amazing father and I appreciate you. This
has been an amazing 8 years! We still have forever to go HAPPY FATHER’S DAY KITO BELL.

and he always has my back. Our daughter now lives with him (2yrs now)
and it was a really hard decision to let her go. But he’s a good dad and
does what he’s supposed to do. I said I would never want my kids resenting
me because of my own selfish reasons for wanting them with me when
he’s always made it very clear to them that if they ever want to live with
him they’re welcome to. It’s not easy for him taking on the challenge of a
new teenage girl, but he’s making it work and I’m proud of him for that. He
