outside , yet it was still early enough to catch some of the live Jazz band at the Blue Room . I pulled up to valet parking , tipped the young man and walked inside . The place was bumping . I ordered a shot of Hennessey on the rocks and sat back listening to the music . An hour had passed , there she was standing over to the bar wearing a short sexy blue dress . Showing all her curves . I couldn ’ t help but to look at her . I sent a glass of red wine over . She looked around as I slide down in my chair , so she couldn ’ t see me . The bartender pointed over at me .
( Walking over to me ) “ Are you stalking me ?”
“ No way !” “ What ’ s your name ? I never got it .”
“ Why should I give you my name ?” Staring her in the face , she is so beautiful , thinking I want to grab her and start kissing her all over .
“ You are so beautiful !” I told her , it just came out . I been dying to tell her that since the first day . Life stopped for a few seconds and she took a deep breathe .
“ My name is Rasheeda . Are you going to tell me yours now ?” He reached down , grabbed my right hand and kissed it . “ My name is Alonzo .” “ Nice meeting you , Alonzo . You can let my hand go now .” “ Chuckles ” “ I ’ m sorry . I love your name , Rasheeda . “ Thank you .”
We talked for a couple hours , getting to know each other . We left the club that night , I didn ’ t ask her for her number and the same for her . If it is destiny , we would see each other again and that ’ s when I will ask her for her number .
The next day I woke up with a headache , but it wasn ’ t a ordinary headeache . I couldn ’ t stop thinking about Rasheeda . I felt as though she is the one . The woman I want to spend the rest of my life with . She is smart , beautiful , successful in many ways and we talked all night . What more could I ask for ? I might not ever see her again , I had to do something . Time is running out . I ’ m about to lose the women I think I ’ m falling for .
Moments later my phone ring . “ Hey man ! What ’ s up ?”
“ Nothing much . I wanted to know if you going to the party tomorrow night ?”
“ I ’ m not sure .”
“ If you do , I have a female for you .” “ Ight man ! I will think about it and let you know .”
Getting dressed to leave my house , I wanted to stop at the coffee house to see if she was there . Sitting at the table , I waited and waited for her to stop by . Twenty miuntes had passed and I have to leave . I got up from the table .
“ Hi , Alonzo !” “ Hi , Rasheeda ! How are you this morning ?”
“ Good ! Stopped by to get my favorite hot coco . I have a few meetings this morning , so I ’ m kind of running behind .”
“ Okay ! I don ’ t want to slow you down .”
“ Okay here is my number . Call me later this evening . Maybe we can have lunch .”
“ I will call you .”
Later that evening Alonzo called Rasheeda . They talked for hours on the phone . Everything was just right . They decided to meet up for lunch at Gladys Knight Chicken and Waffles and they found themselves sitting in the corner with the light dem , holding hands . Rasheeda was tickled . She continued holding Alonzo hands . He reached in and kissed her on the cheeks . She pushed him away and he tried again . The waiter brought there food out , they ate and continued talking sitting by each other . Alonzo could not keep his eyes off her .
She looked back with a glaze in her eyes , that felt like love for the first time . She couldn ’ t believe it was happining , he felt the same way . They ordered wings , laughed , watched the live band playing soft loving music , which changed the mood for the both of them . Alonzo took his hand and carried her back slowly . She felt the warmth of his hand and the love in his eyes . She leaned over and kissed him on the cheek , nice and slow . After having a nice evening , Alonzo walked her to her car . They embraced one another and left .
( phone ringing ) “ yo whats up ?”
“ ah man I ’ m in love Johnny ” “ laughing , man what did you do ”
“ I went out with Rasheeda , an ..” 12 THRIVE MAGAZINE
