According to 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 New International Version( NIV)
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
Love is an agreement to see beyond skin pigmentation, religion, ethnicity, betrayal, imperfections and difference in opinion. It can make us feel invisible as if we’ re walking on cloud nine but once its ingested Love can leave you with side effects. Once consumed you are more susceptible to the raw and uncut emotions.
Often times we feel as if life is just passing us by. As a woman, I confess we are either consumed by the lack of honesty in relationships, financial hardships, judging others simply because they look, act, speak or profess different views all while searching for an intense feeling of deep affection.
As women we are taught to be all things to all people. To stop at nothing till the task is complete, to quantify the solution before the problem is presented, to care for our significant other, to raise healthy children and to Love our neighbors as an extension of our family. We are taught to take pride in being active within our community, president of the PTA and volunteer when a chaperone is needed for a class field trip to the zoo.
But they never told us that in order to love others you have to love yourself first. They never told us that love takes courage, faith, discipline and hope. They never told us that this four letter word LOVE will change something on the inside of us as you grow. Love They never told us that this intense feeling of deep affection would change your direction, passion, beliefs and humble you to the depths of your soul. They never told us that we will bend beyond measure but never break!
As women we tend to nurse, teach, guide, heal and Love others, yet we remain broken ourselves. See when our father created you, he already knew your purpose. He formed you to be a SEVEN DAY WARRIOR, Nurturer, and Problem Solver. You were created with childbearing hips, an unconditional heart and the ability to build foundations and create platforms.
I encourage you to experience having side effects once you’ ve ingested loving yourself. Love heals all wounds. Love is being committed. Love never fails you. Love makes you matter! I encourage you to take care of yourself as you do others.
