RULE # 6: MAKE MONEY AS YOU GO
Got skills? Get a job! Yes, it?s really that easy!
What? Did you think you were going to be
panhandling to get around? Well, you might
actually end up doing that too. But, the ideal
situation is to get a job and make some good
money for a bit. Know your Visa rules and
regulations though, working for an extended
period of time will usually require a working
visa. It costs a bit more than the typical 30-day
visas, but its well worth it considering the
consequences. Immigration officersdon?t take
kindly to misinformed travelers.
There are opportunities to make an extra buck
just about anywhere you go! Teach English in
Thailand, pick wine grapes in Italy, volunteer
at a children?s orphanage in Tanzania, or Au
Pair in New Zealand! These are only a few of
the very likely, and accessible possibilities to
consider on the road. Anytime, anywhere,
there is always something available!
RULE # 7: LEARN FROM LOCALS
Simply said, locals always know best! I mean
really, this rule trumps the Internet in terms of
useful information! With an established
wealth of knowledge, solidified by a lifetime
of residency, they can provide a comfortable
interpretation of your new surroundings.
Everything from local delicacies and cultural
history, to ancient traditions, enjoyable
hobbies and bequeathed techniques. This is
where you begin to discover enlightenment
within a new perspective. Something you
simply can not unobtainable with your hands
and your hands alone. These are the ones who
make traveling to a new place exotic and
special. As visitors, bring a smile and be
respectful!
RULE # 8: FIND A FREE MEAL
This isn?t always easy to do, but it is possible.
You just have to know where to look!
Supermarkets for one, often throw out tons of
fresh produce every single day! Most of it is
perfectly good fruits and vegetables! Just be
conscious of your selection.

THOSE WHO WANDER
Getting sick from something rotten or spoiled
would only be counter-productive at the end
of the day. Otherwise, go ahead and dive in!
If your looking for a step up from dumpster
diving, you can always try a smaller ?family
style? restaurant. At closing time, they will
usually throw out any left overs too! Ask
nicely, they might hook you up a meal, or more
likely, six! No one likes to see good food gone
to waste!
One final option is to volunteer! Volunteering
is a great way to get a few meals in you for the
day, maybe even earn a bit of spending cash if
