and the country (Wisconsin). Both
of us are working to become more
creative: Dewey, in photography

1959
After serving six years on the Saco
City Council, David Tripp ran for
mayor in November, losing to Roland Michaud. David recently retired after managing a boat yard in
Portland for 8 years. After graduating from TA, he served in the U.S.
Navy, then worked in Virginia and
North Carolina before returning
to Saco in 1973. Harvey Plourde
wrote in November: “I have been
living in Florida for the past three
years. Thanks for looking me up,
Steve Buzzell ‘59. You sure made
my day!” Daniel Hall moved to The
Villages in Florida in August. He
spends five months in his home
in Scotland and seven months in
Florida.
1960
Andrew Kochis retired in 2005 after 42 years working for the government. He is now babysitting
grandchildren and working part
time.
1961
David and Barbara Warren Field
are enjoying retirement, “kayaking, four wheeling, grandchildren
and much more.” Michael Prejean
is very active in ballroom dancing. Larry Hooper is retired from
his property management company and living in Brunswick. Pat
Massie writes: “In my retirement,
I take care of people’s pets. I have
volunteered at the Animal Welfare
League of Arlington, VA, for 21
years.”
1962
In the summer of 2007 Sandra Dolby Taylor organized and chartered
Maine’s only chapter of the Gold
Star Wives of America. The organization gives surviving spouses
of veterans comfort, care and support, and help with their benefits
eligibility. Her husband Bruce, a
veteran, died ten years ago.
1963
45th Reunion
Gardner Walls writes: “My wife
and I live in Dayton in a home we
both love. Our oldest son Brian is
an engineer and has blessed us
with two granddaughters, Hailey,
5, and Riley, 2. Our youngest son
Chad is getting his PhD in literacy
English. I am very happy where
I live and very proud of my family. Still in the thinking process of
retirement.” Gerry Halasz retired
from the Air Force in 1990 as a senior master sargent, but continued
working for USAF as a food and
business specialist. He is now retiring completely after 24 years active
duty and 17 years civilian service.
He and his wife Mary plan to play
golf, cruise, and travel and hope to
visit Maine this summer. Peter Atwater is building homes and is active in his community and church,
sponsoring the pro-am traveling
Atwater Boys Basketball Team. David Howe retired as administrator
of The Pines in Ocean Park after 33
