Alison Cyr · Class of 2009 · Spreading Smiles
Alison Cyr '09 has recently been
featured in the news, though she
may not be recognizable to the
untrained eye. Cyr's friend and
sorority sister, Valerie Sanborn,
had an inflatable Tyrannosaurus
Rex costume and when Cyr
purchased one for her brother,
sophomore Patrick Cyr '20,
the girls began a campaign of
spreading smiles.
The girls let their imaginations
run wild and they dreamed up an
Instagram account (trexcouple)
that would chronicle their
adventures.
Together, Cyr and Sanborn hosted
a T-Rex gathering in Portland,
Maine's Monument Square in
January. The event was started and
shared on Facebook attracting the
interest of over 2,000 people.
"It was a gathering to spread
smiles." Cyr said. "This makes
people laugh and smile, and we
need more of that in the world."
