Get Into Gardening
Thornton Academy Middle School students in the Environmental Club, with assistance from a Coastal Healthy
Communities Coalition mini-grant, recently created a
community garden on campus for the whole school to
enjoy. They’ve had fun for sure – but they’re also learning
about how to produce a large yield from their crop, what
it means to appreciate the natural world, and why it’s important to make healthy food choices.
TAMS students and their parents celebrated their accomplishments with a Soup Night in February. The star
