TA Volunteers!
Freshmen Amanda Cook
of Saco, left, and McKenzie
Labbe of Arundel, right, mix
bread ingredients at Thornton Academy. They were
among hundreds of students
who took part in TA Volunteers! meal donation in the
fall to benefit the York County Food Rescue. The kick-off
of this new program was
made possible by Jim Amaral, owner of Borealis Bread
in Portland, who provided all
the ingredients for Thornton
students. Financial support
is provided by the United
Way of York County and
Kennebunk Savings Bank.
During the spring term, TA
Volunteers! is rolling out a
new program called Radical Acts of Kindness. Each
freshman has been asked to
perform an act of kindness
for a significant person in
his or her life once a week
for three weeks. The next
phase began in March, when
