THE 11TH ANNUAL THORNTON FUND AUCTION
Members of the greater Saco
community gathered at Th ornton
Academy on Saturday, May 5 for
the school's 11th annual auction.
Th ornton Academy celebrated its
longstanding relationships with
area partners while raising funds
to benefi t Th ornton Academy
students. Th e 2018 auction was
the most successful event to date,
raising more than $125,000.
Th ornton Academy's largest on-
campus fundraising event featured
a lively evening with special
guest PyeongChang snowboarding
Olympian Jules Marino, cocktails
from Dogfi sh Spirits, delicious
hors d’oeuvres and one-of-a-kind
auction items. Th e silent and live
auction items included exciting
vacation getaways, a scooter, Eagles
concert tickets with limo service, and
much more. Over 250 items were
donated by nearly 200 individuals
and businesses, a testament to the
commitment and enthusiasm of the
community.
Th e highlight of the evening was
an exciting announcement about
kicking off the public phase of our
“For the Win” - Athletic Complex
Capital Campaign. Auction guests
toasted champagne in celebration
of the $2.1 million raised during
the quiet phase and watched a
virtual tour of the complex plans.
A special thank you to all those
who helped make Th ornton
Academy’s 11th annual auction a
success. We are excited to celebrate
our 12th annual auction on May 4,
