Thornton Academy Postscripts Alumni Magazine Fall 2017 | Page 20
being the very first performed
on Thornton’s beloved stage, the
Arts Department invite all TA
Player alumni to a reception before
opening night, and offer them a
complimentary ticket to our show.
“Because it's the first show ever
on this stage, it's special. I am in
the process of going through all of
the records I have, and I'm putting
together a list of every show that
has been in here since. And I'm
compiling a list of everybody from
every cast that has been in any
show ever, since You Can't Take
It With You. There's hundreds of
people. It's amazing how many
people have been in multiple shows
during their four years, and how
many [alum] are sending their kids
to school here already, since they
were in a show,” Hanright says.
Overall, one thing can be learned
from both the show, and being a TA
Player: your family will always be
there for you, even when you don't
want them there. And more often
than not, you’ll find them in the
Arts Wing.
And the director knows this all too
well. “You Can't Take It With You
was the first show ever. I think we
need to have a party. It's the Players
Reunion.”
