One hundred years after the then-new
gymnasium building was named for George
Addison Emery, the Thornton Academy
Board voted to update the aging building,
recover its architectural beauty, and
convert its top floor to a 21st Century
library.

Librarian Jill Kehoe reports that students
are far more productive in the library’s
new location with a vaulted ceiling and
towering windows that flood the space
with natural light.
