Help The School & Enjoy The
Fun At TA’s 2011 Auction
by William S. Kany ’77
On April 29, 2011, the
Thornton Fund 4th Annual Auction
and Raffle Night will again take
place. The 2011 auction is doubly
significant in that it will be part of
TA’s bicentennial celebration while
helping to work toward Thornton’s
goal of funding several important
athletic upgrades on campus. In
order to make this auction the best
one yet, we need your help.
Our goal for the bicentennial
is to sell all 500 raffle tickets. If
a small percentage of our alums
each buy one that goal is certainly
attainable. If you would agree to
buy a $100 raffle ticket and you
could possibly agree to sell an
extra ticket that would be a huge
help.
If you or your business can
donate an item for the auction, the
gift will be appreciated. For this
special year, we are asking people
to stretch a bit and be creative
with an auction item. For example,
last year several antiques and
items of jewelry from the Charles
Allard estate sold very well. If
you or a family member have any
unique items of art, furniture or
jewelry that you would be willing
to donate, we would be happy –
and grateful – to auction them off
for the annual fund.
