after the party , Clara sneaks back downstairs to find her beloved Nutcracker . She falls asleep and has a magical dream . In her dream , Clara is attacked by mice and their Evil Mouse Queen . Her Beloved Nutcracker and his soldiers battle the Mice and ultimately defeat them , with the help of Clara . Drosselmeyer then turns the Nutcracker into a Handsome Prince . He and Clara dance with joy as they travel through the Land of Snow . The Snow Queen and her Snowflakes dance for Clara and the Prince before sending them to the Kingdom of Sweets . The Sugar Plum Fairy , her Cavalier and all members of her Court dance to entertain Clara , and to thank her for rescuing them from the reign of the Evil Mouse Queen . After an enchanting evening of Dancing Spanish Hot Chocolate , Exotic Arabian spices , Lively Chinese Tea and Russian Peppermint , sugary French Marzipan , adorable Bon Bon candies , beautiful crystalline roses and Sugar Plum ’ s Sweets , Clara must say goodbye and return home from her incredible dream .
