Nutcracker
oin South Georgia Ballet for our 25th Annual Celebration of The Nutcracker , November 26th & 27th . This year , we are pleased to return to the Thomasville Municipal Auditorium and feature a LIVE orchestra under the direction of Boyan Bonev . Attendees will enjoy performances from guests artists from The Cincinnati Ballet , and even surprise appearances from some beloved South Georgia Ballet alumni and staff !
The story of The Nutcracker takes place on Christmas Eve as the Stahlbaum family hosts a Christmas party for family and friends . The Children are given gifts and Godfather Drosselmeyer treats them to a magic show and dancing mechanical dolls . He then gives his favorite Goddaughter , Clara , a Nutcracker shaped like a wooden soldier . Fritz , her jealous brother , steals Clara ’ s precious gift in a fit of rage and breaks it . Clara ’ s special Godfather repairs her precious doll and sprinkles a little magic over him . That evening ,
