Victorian Christmas
Victorian Christmas is Thursday and Friday , Dec . 8 and 9 from 6 to 9 each evening . A Thomasville tradition , it is known as one of the best holiday events in the Southeast bringing visitors from all across the country and taking attendees back in time to Thomasville ’ s Victorian past .
Victorian Christmas was originally created more than 30 years ago by the downtown merchants , as a way to drive shopping and dining traffic to the then up-and-coming downtown . Over the years , the event has grown by leaps and bounds , increasing in size and scope each year and creating a large and positive economic impact on the downtown area covering several city blocks .
This year ’ s Victorian Christmas will include traditional favorites like carriage rides , a live nativity , strolling carolers and costumed strollers . By spreading the event into the Ritz Amphitheater and West Jackson Street area , more entertainment and vendors will be featured this year .
Victorian Christmas will feature a wide variety of dining options , street performers , live music and children ’ s activities throughout the event area . All activities are free with food and other items available for purchase . Participating downtown shops and restaurants will feature holiday specials , sales and entertainment .
