authors paint a portrait of one of the most influential twentieth-century designers . As a selftaught designer , Bunny developed a style of warmth and relaxed luxury . She approached art , gardening , and design with understated sophistication and charm .
Lloyd recounts memories of his grandmother in a forward entitled “ Memories of Granbunny .” Drawing on childhood reminiscences and later encounters with Bunny , Lloyd contemplates in this tribute whether it is possible to improve his relationship with his grandmother after her death . “ Granbunny ’ s consistent drive for creative perfection ,” he writes , “… paired well with her uncanny ability to seek out and partner with some of the greatest emerging designers of the time .” At their lecture , Thomas Lloyd and Bryan Huffman will offer a warm , personal glimpse into the life and design influences of Bunny Mellon .
The weekend will conclude with the Savannah Ramsey Singletary Floral Workshop . A local florist will help adolescents design their own mini floral arrangement in the form of a boutonniere or corsage . In honor of Savannah Singletary , the daughter of beloved Ram who has tirelessly supported the show for many years , the workshop provides an opportunity for young people to give back to the community while teaching the art of nature .
With this year ’ s new location downtown in the community that has supported the Antiques Show so faithfully , TASF is thrilled with the anticipation building for the 2023 Show . “ We are excited to return to some of our favorite events that had to be altered in the past two years ,” explains Board President Caroline Flowers . Vendors are eager to return . Attendees are already expressing excitement on social media . “ It ’ s only appropriate ,” says Flowers , “ that this year ’ s Show be dedicated to the city we love .”
