This Italianate-style home was built for winter resident David McCartney of Fort Howard , Wisconsin in 1886 . The railroad and banking executive visited Thomasville for his health and returned each winter until his death in 1898 . The carved window caps and decorative scroll work is found throughout the building ’ s facade . The home is currently owned by John and Kristin Thompson .
