The Burch House ( 1882-83 )

This Vernacular-style home was built for William Houston Burch and his wife Sally Burch around 1882 . In 1895 , newlyweds Rena and William Jarret Taylor purchased the house and remained until 1906 , when the home sold to sawmill operator John Dopson and his wife Lula . After 1925 , owner and Thomasville contractor J . W . Blanton expanded the house to its current footprint . The house was then owned by the John Alred family for almost 40 years . Today , the home is owned by Claire Thomas Timm .
