A renewed love for

wallpaper

In the world of interior design and home decor , we see many things come and go . With every year , and even every season , trends fizzle out and styles constantly evolve . But every once in a while , something really good sticks - such as wallpaper .

Some would argue that the glory days of wallpaper were back in the 60 ’ s , 70 ’, and 80 ’ s , and that afterwards it carried an undesirable , dated connotation . The truth is , wallpaper has been around for hundreds of years , and much longer in certain parts of the world . Today , with endless varieties of styles and applications , the appeal of wallpaper is stronger than ever .
Why We Love It
There ’ s nothing that packs quite the style punch that wallpaper does . Color , texture , pattern … the essential design trifecta is easily accomplished with a thoughtfully chosen paper . It can be the starting point of inspiration for an entire project , or the finishing touch to breathe new life into an existing space . A room covered top to bottom in a striking print doesn ’ t have to rely on anything else around it to achieve major style . It may work best with neutral furnishings and small pops of color , so it can really sing . The dining room is often a perfect canvas for a bold , attention grabbing pattern like a vining botanical or scenic chinoiserie print . Patterned walls become the captivating focal points when a room is mostly full of matching wood furniture .
