March 4-25 Covey Film Festival The Covey Film Festival ’ s mission is to educate , entertain , edit engage audiences through film , for the purpose of providing added resources to the Thomasville community resource center for family and children ’ s programming . Through our carefully vetted documentaries that address current issues : environmental , conservation , refugees , families and films representing different cultures abroad , etc ., We educate audiences . We entertain by offering films that make us laugh , cry , get angry and have fun ! We see how actors employ their craft and discuss what makes their performance entertaining . When possible we bring professional actors to our community to discuss their experiences in the film industry . We engage our audiences by presenting films of any genre that provide an opportunity for audience members to learn , discuss and address an issue that a field addresses . We bring in guests who are experts in the subject of films to share their knowledge and experience . Finally , Covey Film Festival is the signature fund-raising event for the Thomasville Community Resource Center ( TCRC ) which serves underserved children and families in four counties : Brooks , Grady , Thomas and Mitchell . Programs include : a preschool for two , three and four-year-olds to teach content that is consistent with child development best practices and help identify early learning problems ; after school academic enrichment services led by certified teachers ; parental engagement programs and parent / child programs where TCRC staff go into homes and work with children and parents on early literacy . March 11 Metcalfe Spring Market A fun filled annual spring market in historic Metcalfe ! Enjoy a day of live music , great food , and lots of shopping ! Everything from homegrown , hand-crafted artisan goods , antiques , vintage finds , baked treats , furniture , art and much more ! April 7 First Friday Sip and Shop Ritz Amphitheater Enjoy dinner , grab a beer or wine and free arm band from a participating Downtown restaurant or venue , and shop with us ! Participating shops will have extended hours , with many bars and restaurants open until 10 pm . We ’ ll have food trucks at The Ritz Amphitheater during this event , they ’ ll be setup by 6 pm . April 8 Easter Egg Hunt Pebble Hill 9 a . m . to noon Children ages 2 years-2nd grade are invited to enjoy filling their baskets with Easter eggs from our beautiful Grounds . Special “ Golden Egg ” prizes , games , and other activities included in this family event . Visit with our horses and enjoy a beautiful spring day at Pebble Hill Plantation ! Easter at Pebble Hill has a rich history of fun and fellowship , a tradition began by Kate Hanna Ireland Harvey . This is a ticketed event . Tickets go on sale March 1 .
