If you ’ re looking for a romantic read this wedding season , then The Bookshelf in downtown Thomasville has you covered . With a wide variety of romantic titles from rom-com ’ s to romantic thrillers , the folks at The Bookshelf have it all . Kyndall Stone , The Bookshelf ’ s inventory coordinator , had several suggestions when asked who her favorite romantic authors were .
“ Anything Emily Henry has written , it ’ s a big seller here , and it ’ s also my favorite . She just writes a lot of contemporary romance ,” Stone said . “ She ’ s really sweet and she ’ s good at having a subplot that is super well developed whether it ’ s about friend dynamics or family dynamics .”
Among Stone ’ s favorite books on her favorite book list on The Bookshelf is Happy Place by Emily
Henry and Better Than The Movies by Lynn Painter .
Stone also recommended Annabel Monaghan , a USA Today bestseller who did an event with The Bookshelf in recent years .
“ She was so sweet and really funny . Her books are really nice . They feel like they kind of skew more towards an older audience . The women in the books , most of them have kids or are getting divorced , stuff like that . She ’ s also just really funny .”
Monaghan ’ s romance novels include Same Time Next Summer , Summer Romance , and her newest title It ’ s a Love Story , which is set to be released in May of 2025 .
The Bookshelf staff also recommends Suzanne Allain , an author from Tallahassee , Florida who often focuses on regency romance ’ s .
