tablished yet still rising star , gracing the world ’ s top opera and concert stages from the Kennedy Center to the Metropolitan Opera in lead and title roles in Carmen , Sampson and Delilah and Akhnaten .
Later in February , the Boston-based string orchestra , A Far Cry , performs in Thomasville in a highly anticipated concert first scheduled for 2020 but delayed by COVID-19 cancellations . The Grammy-nominated orchestra takes an inventive approach to new music and the classics that critics call compelling and intrepid . The varied program of works includes Tchaikovsky ’ s 1880 composition , “ Serenade for String Orchestra in C Major ,” which A Far Cry performs from memory .
The 2022-23 concert series concludes in March with another long-awaited performance by the UKbased gospel ensemble , The Kingdom Choir , whose planned December 2020 and December 2021 concerts for TEF were impacted by the global pandemic . The London group , which gained worldwide attention when it performed at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle , are feted for a unified sound , warm energy and enthusiastic stage presence .
TEF ’ s Vice President for Box Office Ginny LeGette advises that season ticket packages make the most sense and are the most economical way to enjoy TEF ’ s stellar line up of performers .

“ Season ticket holders are guaranteed seats for the concerts they most want to experience , so there ’ s no risk of disappointment when a performance is sold out ,” LeGette explained . “ And , with an advance season subscription , tickets for our concerts start at just over $ 28 per seat , an amazing value for the caliber of artists TEF brings to Thomasville .”
In an effort to keep its performance series accessible to the community , Thomasville Entertainment Foundation has not raised ticket prices since 2014 , despite continued increases in artist fees , production costs and other concert-related expenses . That ’ s possible , TEF President Linda Tarver noted , because of the strong level of community support that TEF enjoys season after season from patrons , donors , volunteers , local foundations and program book advertisers .
Tarver said season ticket holders also get special perks , such as being able to retain their same seats season after season and having the opportunity to participate in the optional pre-concert reception , Drinks + Bites , exclusively available to season ticket holders and their guests .
Tickets to individual concerts will go on sale approximately one month before each event , LeGette said , subject to availability after season ticket orders are processed .
