The famous Temple Bar in Dublin , Ireland .
The trip wasn ’ t over just yet , though . Erin and the children said goodbye to their grandparents and hopped on a commuter flight to London , where they spent another four days .
“ I love London and I had not been there in years ,” Erin said . “ It ’ s very similar to New York in the fact it has so many different areas .”
In order to see as many areas as possible , Erin took the family on a Double Decker Bus Tour , having them hop off at Tower Bridge .
“‘ Everyone says the London Bridge is the one they want to see , but it ’ s really the Tower Bridge ,” she said . “ That ’ s the one you want to see .”
While Erin loved all the shopping and dining , especially the Indian cuisine , she said her favorite area of London was the Mayfair area or Kensington . However , she said most of the kids were tired at that point , so if she ever visits again , she would travel to Kensington early on .
Erin said Hendley and Crichton had both been abroad with Brookwood School , however Byrdie had only visited the Bahamas prior to the acrossthe-pond experience . Nevertheless , Byrdie enjoyed the trip immensely , but all the kids agreed the Donegal house was their favorite over the cities .
“ I think they all loved the quiet and the obvious beautiful scenery that came with that ,” Erin said . “ I loved Donegal too , because the kids were able to get closer with their grandparents , which I thought was neat for them .”
As for their next family vacation , Erin has nothing planned yet . However , she hopes to one day revisit Ireland again and see more of the small , quaint towns on the Northern coast .
