Kim Smith does a toe touch in Vancouver , Canada .
Now having traveled to Finland , Greece , Alaska , Canada , the islands of New England , landmarks like the Grand Canyon and the Painted Canyon , and to both Italy and Ireland twice , Smith said that Italy and Greece are in her top two favorite places .
“ I still say that Italy and Greece are probably my top two ,” Smith said . “ This is what I ’ ll say , everywhere you go , there ’ s just something beautiful .”
Having not been a travel bug before beginning taking trips through the Y , Smith said that there is beauty everywhere you go and everywhere has something special to experience .
“ Everywhere you go , it ’ s just a beauty to it ,” she said . “ Whether it ’ s the glaciers in Canada or the whales in Alaska or the fall foliage in New England or the monastery in Greece or the Vatican in Italy , really , what I want is for people to get out and travel .”
Now with trips planned for places like Costa Rica , South Africa and New Zealand coming up in 2024 , Smith said that there is room for anyone who wants to join the club .
“ We are a fun , rowdy group ,” she said . “ Anyone who wants to be a part of the club can be a part of the club ! Just reach out to us , if I can ’ t help you , I can find someone who can .”
Born and raised in Thomasville , she knows that the local area has something special all on its own , but said that there is just so much to see beyond it .
“ I ’ m born and raised in Thomasville , Ga , and what I know is that there is more to life and I love Thomasville , but there ’ s so much more to see ,” Smith said . “ Like , when you see the Grand Canyon , pictures just don ’ t do it justice .”
And realizing that through her work with 321 Let ’ s Go Travel Club has been a blessing , she said .
“ It ’ s been great ,” Smith said . “ It ’ s been a blessing .”
