Philip Ambrose Roadmap for financial success

words and photography by Payton Fletcher

Finance is one of the most personal facets of life that we have , but making the best investments and planning out retirement funds isn ’ t everyone ’ s forte .

For three years , Philip Ambrose , a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM of Rosenberg , Alvis , & Ambrose Wealth Management , has sought to create plans for families and businesses alike , paving the road for their finances to thrive .
According to Ambrose , his work is all about reaching goals set by his clients .
“ If I had to get to the heart of what I do ,” Ambrose said , “ it ’ s helping small businesses and families achieve financial goals .”
Some financial planners , according to Ambrose , mostly concern themselves with managing investment , but Ambrose , who is certainly willing to research investments for his clients , tries to go deeper than that for those seeking financial advisement .
“ I like to take a holistic approach to a business and a family together and say ‘ OK , let ’ s examine the whole picture ,’” he said . “ Because if we don ’ t see the whole picture , then they ’ re going to miss some cracks in a plan .”
Plans , he added , that are sometimes difficult to even conceptualize for some client because they aren ’ t quite sure of what they ’ re looking for in terms of success , which varies from experience to experience .
“ Some of them have no idea what success looks like ,” Ambrose said , “ They have been working so hard that they haven ’ t created any type of plan or long-term thought process .”
Personal involvement has always been a cornerstone of Ambrose ’ s experience with finances and he said that forming a relationship with his clients is an important aspect to figuring out what they truly want out of financial success and what the success should look like .
“ I form a deep relationship with my clients and I become a friend of the family ,” he said , “ And I start to break down what a whole financial picture can look like .”
This closeness with his client allows him to see the issues in their current management and , more importantly , what he is able to do to facilitate a stronger , healthier financial map .
“ You ’ re going to see they ’ re way underfunded here or they ’ re way underinsured here or way overfunded , way overinsured ,” Ambrose said , “ Where can we be able to cut that back to allocate it to something else ?”
