A
well-established recruitment firm
based in the heart of the Tees Valley
has embarked on an ambitious
investment strategy in support of its strategic
objectives for the coming years.
Having recently celebrated its fifth year of
successful trading from its Middlesbrough
base, Solutions Recruitment, part of
the Talent84 family, has made major
improvements in technology, infrastructure
and people. These changes will pass on
significant benefits to customers and
employees, as well as futureproofing the
business.
“The Tees Valley is a terrific place to do
business and live,” said Matthew Telling, who
leads the Tees Valley operation.
“It has a hugely positive feel about it
these days, thanks to our local political
and business leaders driving ambitious
growth and development plans and raising
aspirations for our region. Projects such as
Net Zero Teesside, for example, which are
tackling climate change head on, are ground-
breaking.”
“Developments in hydrogen technology
innovation, offshore wind, advanced
manufacturing and steel-making
are ensuring that the Tees Valley is
internationally competitive. Great progress
is also being made in digital innovation and
growth, so we’re moving with the times to
ensure we’re agile enough to meet the ever-
changing needs of our customers.”
As experts in engineering, technical,
accountancy, finance and commercial
disciplines, the Solutions vision is to be
the partner of choice, in permanent and
temporary recruitment.

recruitment, we draw on
a wealth of expertise to
work with businesses who
are looking for support in
changing or developing
their organisation.
“Their success is
our business. Help can
come in the form of
introduction to specialist
resources such as
finance or investment,
collaborating on
initiatives or benchmarking; all with a view
to adding value.”
A key client in the Solutions portfolio
is North Skelton-based Tees Components,
led by Sharon Lane who was named Tees
Valley Businesswoman of the Year in
2019. Tees Components is a family-owned
SME specialising in large heavy computer
numerical control machining.
“Due to our continued growth and
retirement we had a number of new positions
during the course of 2019, a combination of
key roles, all requiring significant technical
expertise in our particular field,” said Sharon.
“To fill these effectively we needed a
recruitment partner that was going to take
the time to really understand our business,
our culture, our goals and the specific skillset
we need. We were delighted that Matthew
and his team really ensured they understood
our requirements, and I appreciated the
flexibility from Solutions in terms of working
with us in the way
we wanted.
“Solutions are very ‘present,’ always
responsive when needed and great
communicators. The quality of the candidates
they deliver to us is strong because they
listen. We will certainly continue to work
with Solutions for our future recruitment
needs.”
Solutions Recruitment, having recently
been ranked third in Recruiter magazine’s
Fastest 50 growth list, is well-positioned
to support the evolution of the Tees Valley
landscape.
