Owning IT
razorblue’s owned infrastructure
allows for complete reliability
I
t’s been over 13 years since razorblue was
formed, and the company has continued to
grow and flourish year-on-year in one of
the most competitive and volatile sectors in
the UK.
CEO Dan Kitchen started the business at
17 years old, from his bedroom. The absolute
commitment to putting clients' needs first
has never wavered and underpins everything
that razorblue does today.
This past year has been particularly
successful for the firm, following year-on-
year revenue growth in excess of 30%. There
are now almost 90 team members across six
offices in Wynyard, Catterick, Newcastle,
Leeds, Manchester and London.
The multi-award-winning technology
solutions provider specialises in managed
IT, business software, connectivity, cloud
and telecoms, plus cybersecurity and
building infrastructure. All of which brings
huge opportunities for businesses in terms
of efficiency, growth, innovation and
profitability, as well as making razorblue
perfectly competent to give advice on risk
and data management.
Innovation is key and through its unique,
proactive, end-to-end approach, razorblue
has established an impressive client portfolio
and it now demonstrates its expertise across
a broad range of industries, including
manufacturing, construction, professional
services, education, hospitality and local
government.

David Raper, Rachel Atkinson, Jonathan Anderson and Mark Wilkinson.
Dan said: “Our team of talented
individuals repeatedly raise the bar. We
employ on a best in class basis which
allows us to keep pushing boundaries and
continually evolving our range of solutions.
“We don’t sell other people’s products,
or rebadge, we own our infrastructure and
have the complete flexibility to work only
on providing the best fit solution for our
clients.”
He continued: “Our industry is one of the
fastest paced in the world and our staff must
learn, test and deploy new technologies,
quickly.
“We are already working with artificial
intelligence and machine learning, so our
clients are never left behind in their
own sectors.”
razorblue is one of the few managed
service providers to wholly own its
infrastructure, including an independent
backbone network and VMware powered
cloud, in each of their datacentres. This
means they are in complete control of
reliability, backups and disaster recovery.
This investment continues in their
people too, with new roles added to
the management and software teams to
strengthen the business, supporting growth
now and in the future.
2020 kicked off with another award win,
with razorblue receiving an Emerging Stars
Award at the annual Megabuyte awards,
which identifies the UK’s best performing,
scale-up technology companies.
