The smart system can enable several buildings on a particular site to work together, sharing the energy generated to meet particular energy demands.
“ We are taking what has been a traditional idea for a staycation and living space and bringing it into the digital age,” said Stuart.
“ Digital technology and the digital industries are big buzzwords on Teesside, and we like to think that MEFAB can contribute to that digital revolution, keeping closely aligned with smart manufacturing techniques.”
Every MEFAB building is designed with integrated electric vehicle connectivity in mind.
Using a vehicle to load technology, a connected EV can be an additional battery store, power the building or be charged from the building.
MEFAB also uses a zero concretebase system that means minimal ground disturbance when being placed on site.
“ What you have with one of our buildings is something that meets various environmental and sustainability targets,” said Stuart.
“ Because many individuals and businesses are part of a drive to be carbon neutral or more environmentally friendly, our buildings can provide the perfect solution for their needs.
“ Unlike most holiday and park homes, our buildings are designed to meet or exceed current building regulations and are manufactured to a very high standard, which can allow us to offer warranties, making a holiday home, or a permanent home, easier to finance.”
Stuart and John believe the buildings will appeal to the eco-tourism market, as they meet all the requirements of the eco-conscious traveller, as well as providing a luxury living experience.
According to research from VisitBritain, one in four UK adults say climate change significantly influences their holiday choices, while nearly a third have actively looked for sustainable accommodation.
Agritourism is another travel sector that has seen significant growth in the UK in recent years, driven by travellers seeking authentic rural experiences, local food, sustainability and connections with the countryside.
MEFAB joined the Back British Farming campaign, as the company is keen to make it easier for farms to diversify into agritourism, offering them a sound investment and an additional revenue stream.
John said:“ The savings on infrastructure and energy costs also ensure that the payback is quicker when compared to other types of buildings.
“ As well as holiday parks and farmland, they could even be suitable for use at shows or festivals as energyindependent event spaces.
“ Our new EcoMatch design can be used as a leisure or sports facility support space, a media hub or a space for a product launch.”

Although a range of designs have been created, bespoke designs are also possible to meet a client’ s specific needs.
New design reveals are also expected from autumn 2026 and throughout 2027.
Because INDUSTRO includes engineering, construction, civils, mechanical and electrical, the business can provide everything required for rapid installation, as part of an end-to-end service.
“ Because we are part of INDUSTRO, everything is done in-house,” said John.
“ There are no third-party contractors involved- all a customer needs to do is provide us with their order and we will do the rest, including handling all planning and statutory approvals.
“ Prices are competitive when compared to traditional lodges and buildings and bearing in mind we design and manufacture to the highest standards, coupled with reduced infrastructure and very low operational costs, a MEFAB space represents a great value proposition.”
