For more than a decade, Resolution Media and Publishing has been telling the stories that matter across the Tees Valley – celebrating success, bringing businesses together and championing a region full of ambition.
Founded by former Middlesbrough FC media colleagues Dave Allan and Martin Walker, Resolution has grown from the launch of a single magazine into one of the region ' s leading business media and events companies.
Named after one of Captain James Cook ' s famous ships, the business was built with the ambition to become the voice of business across the Tees region while helping create a stronger, more connected business community.
Today, that vision continues through an expanding portfolio of publications, awards and networking events and campaigns that shine a spotlight on the organisations and people driving economic growth across Tees Valley.
At the heart of the business remains the quarterly magazine Tees Business, now firmly established as the region ' s leading business publication.
Alongside it sits This Is Tees Valley, now an established annual showcase of the region ' s investment opportunities and success stories, while Resolution also publishes Tees Skills, designed to inspire the next generation as they prepare for careers in industry.
The business also delivers a growing programme of events, including the Tees Business Awards, Tees Businesswomen Awards, Tees Tech Awards, VelociTees, InspiraTees and Tees Business LIVE networking events.
Collectively, they create opportunities for hundreds of businesses each year to network, collaborate, share ideas and celebrate achievement.
Martin said:“ We’ ve always believed Tees Valley has a fantastic story to tell. Every year we see more innovation, more investment and more ambitious businesses choosing to grow here, and it ' s our job to make sure those stories are heard.
“ Whether it ' s major regeneration projects, advanced manufacturing, clean energy, digital technology or inspiring entrepreneurial journeys, we want to showcase the organisations helping shape the future of our region.”
That commitment has seen Resolution work alongside many of the area’ s leading organisations while also supporting hundreds of SMEs that form the backbone of the regional economy.
The company has also continued to diversify, supporting business engagement on major regeneration projects, expanding its events programme and developing initiatives focused on education, skills and the future workforce.
A significant recent addition has been the appointment of experienced business development manager Julie Leonard, who brings more than 25 years of experience in sales, commercial growth and relationship management across multiple sectors.
Julie is helping strengthen Resolution ' s commercial operation while supporting the continued growth of its publications, events and strategic partnerships.
Julie said:“ Resolution has built an outstanding reputation for bringing businesses together and championing everything that ' s positive about our area.
" I ' m looking forward to developing new partnerships, supporting our existing clients and helping even more organisations benefit from the opportunities our publications and events create.”
Dave believes Julie ' s appointment reflects Resolution ' s continued ambition.
He said:“ We’ ve never stood still as a business. We ' re constantly looking at how we can create more opportunities for our partners while continuing to support the wider business community.
“ Julie brings tremendous commercial experience, infectious enthusiasm and a genuine passion for building relationships, making her a fantastic addition to our team as we continue to grow.”
Operating from one of Middlesbrough ' s most historic buildings, Resolution combines a small in-house team with an experienced network of freelance writers, photographers and designers who collectively bring hundreds of years of media experience to every project. As the Tees Valley continues to evolve through significant investment, regeneration and business growth, Resolution remains committed to ensuring the region ' s achievements receive the recognition they deserve.
Martin added:“ We’ ve always believed collaboration is one of the Tees Valley ' s greatest strengths. Our role is to bring businesses together, celebrate success and help create new opportunities.”
