built specifically for the North American market; and the 435AWD EPOS and 535AWD EPOS for more challenging terrain, all of which are wire-free solution utilising satellite technology for precision lawn care.
New products engineer Simon Thompson collected the award on behalf of the team and praised the collaborative culture that drives innovation at the site.
“ It’ s a really good place to work,” said Simon.“ I’ ve worked in a few sectors and coming to Husqvarna three-and-a-half years ago was a real shock – in a positive way.
“ Everyone’ s so helpful – a genuine team, working together towards the same goal.”
Speaking about the company’ s push into international markets, Simon highlighted the challenge and satisfaction of engineering for diverse environments.
“ One of the products mentioned, the North American project, was the first major project I worked on,” he said.
“ Designing one product suitable for everywhere from northern Canada to southern US was certainly a challenge, but it’ s very satisfying when it’ s done.
“ It’ s a relief after two or three years working on something to finally see it palletised and ready to go out the door.”
With product innovation happening year-round in Sweden and industrialisation continuing in Aycliffe, the pace shows no sign of slowing.
“ There are plenty of things that we’ re working on,” Simon added.“ We’ ve already moved on to new projects and have taken that next step again.
“ It’ s constant evolution – we’ re always looking to develop the next generation of mowers.”
And that evolution includes the growing professional market.
“ We’ re now branching out into professional products rather than just residential,” said Caraline.
“ So things like golf courses, football pitches and other larger recreational spaces. We’ re always looking to go forward.”

investments in technology and people.
Recently, the company invested more than £ 1m in semi-automatic production processes to establish an in-house battery manufacturing facility – a move designed to reduce supply chain risk while enhancing sustainability and product capability. This includes automatic welding, soldering, laser marking and testing.
Crucially, the company’ s commitment to its people remains at the heart of its success. Husqvarna UK now spends more than £ 100,000 a year on training and development, across technical and leadership roles alike.“ There’ s lots of opportunity for new talent,” said Caraline.“ We’ re recruiting for a toolmaker, quality engineers and multi-skilled technicians currently – and we welcome applications from anyone interested in building a career with us.”
From its roots as a maker of Flymo mowers to its current status as a leader in robotic lawn care, Husqvarna UK is proving what can be achieved when innovation meets a strong, values-led culture.
And with a skilled and motivated team at its core, the company’ s story is far from finished.
