Titan Trailers’ pride at new leakproof trailers
We’ re all going to have to raise our recycling game – and a Teesside trailer firm is helping with the challenge.
Since 2006, Titan Trailers UK – company motto“ Strength Through Innovation” – has assembled world-class trailers at its site on Middlesbrough’ s Bolckow Road Industrial Estate.
The UK arm of Canadian family-owned company Titan Trailers Inc, the Tees Valley operation sees a 29-strong team construct topquality trailers at its modern, 14-bay, 60,000-sq ft assembly factory.
Based in the Tees Valley but with a growing international reputation, Titan recently supplied 12 state-of-the-art trailers to London Energy, which provides waste management services to more than two million North London residents.
For London Energy, 12 trailers were built. Five are Titan’ s standard, heavy-duty trailer with walking floor while the other seven are“ compacters” – still a standard 44ft 6ins length but containing a heavily reinforced“ guillotine” back door to reflect London Energy’ s use of the compacting system when loading its wagons.
Its latest big order has seen Titan Trailers head for the country’ s second largest city, with Veolia in Birmingham ordering four“ semi-leakproof” models, plus another two for Veolia Shropshire.
And with recycling rules tightening nationwide, Titan is ready to help even more customers with their waste transportation needs.
Titan Trailers UK operations manager Alex Adams explained:“ There’ s new legislation coming into place where all businesses employing more than 10 people have to segregate and have collected their dry recyclable materials and food waste.
“ For our customer, Veolia, we built six semileakproof trailers to assist in this new‘ simpler recycling’.
“ This legislation will also come into effect for households from March 31, 2026, so everybody at home will ultimately get another bin for food waste.
“ To react to these changes, we’ ve also built a demonstration trailer that we can then offer to other waste movers, which may lead to future sales to comply with this new regulation.
“ It’ s another example of us diversifying to meet customers’ needs.”
