Teesside University is redefining the landscape of higher education in the Tees Valley through its ambitious Campus Masterplan.
Teesside University’ s Campus Masterplan is a transformative initiative that has seen more than £ 300m invested in and around Middlesbrough over the last 10 years to create a world-class learning environment.
This bold vision is not only reshaping the physical landscape of the university but is also positioning Teesside as a national leader in digital innovation, sustainability and an excellent student experience.
At the heart of this transformation is a suite of cutting-edge facilities designed to meet the evolving needs of students, researchers and industry.
The newest addition to campus is the university’ s £ 41.4m Digital Life building, which opened earlier this year.
This state-of-the-art facility serves as a hub for digital creativity and innovation, supporting disciplines such as animation, games design, cyber security and immersive technologies.
It reflects the university’ s commitment to preparing students for the digital economy and fostering collaboration between academia and industry.
Equally impressive is the Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre( NZIIC), a £ 13.1m flagship development that underscores Teesside’ s leadership in clean energy and sustainability.
Located at the Tees Advanced Manufacturing Park, the NZIIC is a cornerstone of the Tees Valley’ s green industrial revolution.
It brings together academic expertise and industry partnerships to drive innovation in industrial decarbonisation, the circular economy and environmental sustainability.
The centre is a key part of the university’ s goal to become a net zero institution by 2030 and is already being hailed as a national centre of excellence.
Travel a little further from the central campus and the National Horizons Centre( NHC) in Darlington further exemplifies Teesside’ s strategic investment in regional growth and scientific advancement.
This £ 22.3m centre of excellence for biosciences and healthcare innovation supports research in biomanufacturing, diagnostics and digital health.
It plays a vital role in addressing global health challenges while boosting the local economy through high-value job creation and industry collaboration.
Back in the heart of the Middlesbrough campus, the Student Life Building has become a symbol of the university’ s studentfirst ethos.
This award-winning facility provides a centralised space for student support services, wellbeing and social engagement.
Its innovative design and inclusive approach has earned national recognition, reinforcing Teesside’ s reputation for delivering an outstanding student experience.
