As Middlesbrough FC mark 30 years at the Riverside Stadium, This Is Tees Valley reflects on the quiet power behind Boro and Teesside
Local legend – Steve Gibson OBE plays a key role in Teesside sport, the economy and the community.

There aren’ t many figures in football – or business – who inspire the level of respect Steve Gibson commands in his hometown.

The Riverside didn’ t just change how fans experienced matchdays, it changed the way Teesside saw itself.
Behind the success of the club lies another story – of business, friendship and vision. Gibson founded Bulkhaul in 1981. Working closely with long-time business partner Mike O’ Neill, the pair turned it into one of the UK’ s most successful
