world clinical and community environments . This allows students enrolled in T Level qualifications and vocational programmes in health and care , mental health , adult nursing and maternity to gain practical experience in a safe and controlled setting .
Hospital doctor and TV presenter Dr Ranj , who opened the suite , was impressed by what he saw .
He said : “ It ' s truly state-of-the-art and puts the college at the forefront of healthcare education .
“ The ability to practice in simulated environments like this is invaluable . It allows students to gain hands-on experience , develop teamwork skills and refine their practical abilities in a safe setting .
“ This type of immersive learning translates to better outcomes for patients , with fewer errors and improved communication .”
Middlesbrough College Group is also putting significant investment in adult skills and training .
The college has acquired a new building in Middlesbrough town centre to be the new headquarters of its highly successful Adult and Community Learning Centre .
The centre currently helps more than 800 people a year access learning and skills that enable them to get into employment or which lead directly into a job at the end of the course .
More than 60 per cent of those who attend the centre ’ s courses go directly into employment at the end of the course with a further 18 per cent going on to Further Education as they pursue their career goals .
The centre is currently in premises on Queens Square in Middlesbrough but is outgrowing that space and the move to Russell Street will enable it to help even more adults to get back into learning which can transform their lives .
Ofsted success – members of staff at Middlesbrough College celebrate a glowing report from education inspectors at Ofsted .
The quality of the education and training the college provides was independently recognised earlier this year by education watchdog Ofsted .
Inspectors rated the college as ‘ Outstanding ’ – the highest grade possible – in six out of eight areas of inspection with the other two areas rated ‘ Good ’.
Ofsted particularly praised the strength of Middlesbrough College ’ s skills provision , the personal development achieved by students and their behaviour and attitudes and the leadership and management of the college .
Inspectors also rated Middlesbrough College ’ s apprenticeships , adult learning programmes and provisions for learners with high educational needs as outstanding .
Giving the college an overall rating of ‘ Good ’, Ofsted said that : “ Learners and apprentices benefit from highly welcoming , inclusive and supportive learning and training environments .
“ Leaders are ambitious in their intent to provide education and training opportunities that respond to the skills needs of local , regional and national employers .
“ The college makes a strong contribution to meeting skills needs .”
Zoe Lewis said : “ The students and staff here put so much time and effort into what they do so it is extremely pleasing to see that all of their hard work and the excellent results it produces have been recognised by the inspectors .
“ This report reflects so well not just on our learners , apprentices and educators , but also on the many fantastic partners we have in the area , from the brilliant employers and companies who we work with to the community groups and families who support us .”
