time ,” says Steve , as he reveals a number of exciting developments for CFB Risk Management .
“ We are going to launch a new wind turbine training tower at Cleveland Fire Brigade ’ s headquarters that can be used for fire training .
“ This training tower will be the first of its kind in the country at a fire brigade ’ s headquarters .
“ It ’ s essentially a wind turbine without the blades that we can set fire to at the top .”
Steve says the firm has had “ massive interest ” from energy companies about the development , including a host of the major international leaders in the renewable energy market .
Another exciting development with global training provider 3T involves CFB ’ s work on virtual reality training – so people get a high level of VR experience when learning about mitigating risks in their workplaces .
“ We ’ re working with them on developing site-specific scenarios for risk at sites ,” Steve explains .
“ We provide the technical expertise on what the risk is and how to mitigate the risks and they develop it into a virtual reality ‘ gaming ’ type scenario using their software .
“ They will present the trainee with the opportunity to make decisions based on the risks they are facing and they will be able to mitigate the risks and see potential consequences if they don ’ t ."
Once these training programmes are up and running , Steve is hopeful they can be rolled out worldwide to businesses requiring cutting-edge health and safety training and risk mitigation .
“ We are expecting big interest from major
multinational companies in this ,” said Steve , a former site manager on the Kashagan Project , who worked in Kazakhstan for 16 years and brought his commercial expertise to the business three years ago .
CFB Risk Management has become well respected in the local community , developing its own leads and referrals independently , with 98 per cent of its business coming from referrals .
“ Once we have a customer , they tend to come back to us ,” Steve says .
“ We make sure we deliver the right services , at the right time and at the right price at the sites we work on – and our high level of professionalism , combined with our broad service offering , ensures our customers come back to us .
“ ESG is also so important to all companies today and working with us , companies know they are putting money towards helping

“ My work is not unnoticed and as an employee , that makes a massive difference in getting up and coming to work .
