This was particularly important during the pandemic , which also saw Tees Business ’ digital reach grow significantly .
Martin explains how , during lockdown , Tees Business ’ online networking events became as much about keeping Tees businesspeople connected as they were about keeping the Tees Business brand out there .
The publication is now responsible for the biggest business networking community in the region – and the popularity of its products , both online and in print , continues to grow .
Martin says : “ Online visitors to teesbusiness . co . uk are now six or seven times increased since Covid and we have gone from having a record 2,000 views an online issue of Tees Business previously to an average of 13,000 views now .
“ However , our print product is still hugely important , as people see it and recognise it everywhere – and every type of organisation from big engineering firms and finance companies to IT and tech firms want to advertise in the print product , as they still very much believe in print – and so do we .”
So what ’ s next for the Tees Business publishers ?
“ We ’ re constantly looking for new challenges ,” says Dave , who adds that the success of their Love Middlesbrough magazine – where they have been able to reduce local authority costs through securing advertising at the same time as driving up quality – has opened a potential market to produce similar magazines for the public sector .
The dynamic duo are also looking forward to launching another new awards event early next year and will continue with a minimum of nine business networking events each year .
Through their business , Martin and Dave have a unique insight into the “ remarkably positive feeling about the Teesside business community ” – despite the current cost-ofliving crisis .
“ It ’ s reflected in the fact that Tees Business as our core product continues to grow ,” says Dave .
“ Businesses are spending money on their marketing because they are confident about the future .
“ We are looking forward to continuing to be a part of that future and helping to champion the success of our region .”
