Welcome to This Is Tees Valley 2022 – an annual publication showcasing the very best of our unique region in the North-East of England .

Our business , Resolution Media and Publishing , is the proud publisher of Tees Business – a quarterly publication now firmly established as the voice of business in the Tees region .

It ’ s packed with features about all the great local businesses and institutions and is distributed right across the Tees Valley business region . So it was a logical next step to launch a publication that did the same on a national level .

We know the Tees Valley is a special place – the people , our businesses , the scenery , the lifestyle – but it ’ s often portrayed , unfairly , in our opinion , in a less positive light by the national media .

Tees Valley Combined Authority does a fantastic job in promoting what we have to offer , telling the world about the investment opportunities here . Led by mayor Ben Houchen , a region that once led the world in iron and steel , bridge-building and shipbuilding , chemicals and plastics manufacturing , is potentially on the cusp of a new era of innovation , success and prosperity .

Our region has a proud history of innovation but our best years are ahead of us . We wanted to complement the work of mayor Houchen and the combined authority by putting together what is essentially a marketing document for the Tees Valley , so we ’ re proud to have again gone into partnership with the combined authority to produce this beautiful publication , supported by all five local authorities of Middlesbrough , Stockton-on-Tees , Redcar & Cleveland , Darlington and Hartlepool , together with our university , local college groups and a Who ’ s Who of the region ’ s businesses .

We ’ re delighted that some of the region ’ s inspiring business leaders and personalities have provided their own thoughts on what makes the Tees Valley so special , while we also reflect on our proud past with features on our industrial heritage and iconic figures .
