 community

 advocates
 for
 older
 people.

 While
 our

Community
 Service
 Commission
 labors
 over
 naming
 a
 new
 37,563-­‐square-­‐foot

facility,
 slated
 to
 replace
 the
 existing
 Rodgers
 Seniors
 Center
 later
 in
 the
 year,
 it

would
 also
 be
 the
 perfect
 moment
 to
 begin
 tackling
 a
 serious
 issue
 impacting
 the
 entire

Huntington
 Beach
 community—ageism.

Having
 written
 on
 ageism
 for
 other
 publications,
 the
 subject
 has
 been
 on
 my
 mind
 once
 again—
I’ll
 explain.
