volunteers—“If I wanted water, I would have asked for water, beer me!”

There are plenty of options—even for Snail’s pace runners—to be among the estimated 17,000
runners in this year’s Surf City Half Marathon. You’ll be starting out in front of the Hilton
Waterfront Beach Hotel mindful that your pace will need to get you back in time for a good
seat to watch the Super Bowl—keep thinking “cold one here!”
As you head inland up the bluff on Seapoint toward Huntington Central Park you may want to
begin chanting out loud—“tastes great, less filling.” Refrain from swearing, you’ll be doing plenty
during the game.
