SARVAHI TAPASA SADHYAM

Dear Readers,

It is my pleasure to see that the Mechanical Engineering Department of RIT is publishing Thinktank, a quarterly magazine for students. The magazine will help to bring seniors, juniors and faculty closer to each other to improve interaction which will further improve learning.

Academic qualifications are indeed important but not enough to survive in today's society. A truly holistic education encompasses character development and that is why shared learning is a priority in RIT. I am sure, Thinktank will carry it on whole another level.

A successful future engineer will need strong analytical skills, practical ingenuity, creativity, good communication skills, business & management knowledge, leadership, high ethical standards, professionalism and pursuit of lifelong learning. I hope student and faculty community will adopt a progressive approach to recognize these characteristics and make all attempts to implement them, which is most important. This magazine will definitely help them to develop total personality through thought-exchange process.

I hope Thinktank will provide a platform for Mechanical Engineers to communicate and organize many events which will help them to be a globally competent engineer.

I congratulate the editorial team for taking this giant step and wish a great success to the magazine and look forward to make Thinktank, popular in engineering community.

Mrs. Sushma S. Kulkarni.
