OPENED: Established 1919 in Janesville, WI LOCATION: Throughout Wisconsin and Illinois.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN: In 1919, John Daniel Woodman started a produce stand at the corner of Milton
Ave. & Sherman Ave. in Janesville, Wisconsin. In 1921, John and his son Willard opened Woodman’s
Super-Service Grocery Store. Woodman’s second store in Janesville, WI at 1266 Milton Ave, built in 1956
after Phil Woodman joins his father in the business. From there the list of stores has expanded but the
ideals at the core of the business remain the same. Excellent customer service and affordable prices.
THE NEWEST MEMBER OF THE FAMILY: The Waukesha location opened in June 2013. It is a beautiful
and spacious building that makes for a great shopping experience. Also, in the building is a full Liquor
Department and not far is a full service gas station. It is one of the most convenient stops you can make!

pride in what we do. We have the largest grocery selection in the state. The same motives have been in
place since 1919, keeping things simple and maintaining LOW prices for all customers.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AND SUPPORT: Some of the hundreds of organizations we support include the
local chapters of national organizations including American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Boys & Girls
Clubs, Goodwill Industries, Make-A-Wish Foundation, March of Dimes and Special Olympics. We also support
dozens of pancake breakfasts, walks, fun fairs and other fund raisers at associations, churches & schools.
