WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO GET STARTED?: “I’ve always been interested in the bar business, although AJ’s is the first bar
I’ve ever poured a customer a drink. My father Al grew up in the business. He entered the professional world after college but after 30 years of working for someone else he decided he wanted to work for himself. My father insisted on it
being a family business, hence AJ’s. Which stands for Al, Adam or Aidan (my 6 year old son) Jankowski.”
FAVORITE PARTS OF THE BUSINESS: “I enjoy interacting with the customers and developing those personal
relationships. That’s what makes it fun to come to work, I know that whether it’s slow or busy I get to see not only
customers but friends when I’m at work.”
WHAT ARE YOUR CUSTOMERS LIKE?: “We have customers of many different ages and all walks of life. You can walk
in on a given Friday night and see 21 to 61 year olds singing karaoke then playing a game of beer pong together and
the 61 year olds usually school the 21 year olds :) Our customers are really anyone who is looking to have a good time
with good friends while enjoying some good food and drinks.”
WHY SHOULD NEW CUSTOMERS STOP IN?: “We are a hidden jem that is just off Big Muskego lake. If you like a great
burger, wings, pizza or fish fry you can enjoy all of those at AJ’s. Enjoy events we have from ice fishing jamborees
to live music like The TOYS, Cherry Pie, Love Monkeys, Rebel Grace, Dueling Pianos and many other acts.”
PLANS TO EXPAND?: “In the upcoming months we will be rolling out a new menu, keeping the favorite items but adding
some fun new dishes. We are going to paint the bar area and give it a fresh feel. I’m most excited that we are going to
upgrade our patio area, which has been an untapped resource for us over the years. It has a great view of the lake and
we’re going to make it a better area to sit with the addition of several things including a fire pit.”
